One night in 1964, a group of hungry young men arrived late at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York. The kitchen was already closed, and owner Teressa Bellissimo told them she only had some chicken wings left — normally used for making soup stock. Teressa fried the wings in oil and quickly whipped up a spicy sauce to coat them. The result was an instant hit and soon became Anchor Bar’s most famous creation.Now, nearly 60 years later, these spicy wings are known around the world as “Buffalo Wings.” Many have tried to copy Teressa’s recipe, but only the closely guarded original sauce still makes Anchor Bar’s wings the one and only Original Buffalo Wings!
